USA Pears wins social media award

PORTLAND, Ore. — USA Pears has won an award for Best In-House Digital Marketing Campaign for a series of videos highlighting Pacific Northwest pear growers.

The awards were given by PR News and Social Shake-up as part of their 2021 Digital + Social Media Awards presentation, and also included an honorable mention for USA Pears’ “Virtual Flavor Experience” videos, according to a press release from USA Pears.

“The videos were developed in-house to highlight the people and places that make the Northwest pear industry so unique,” USA Pears wrote in a press release.

The 11 videos, which are featured extensively on USA Pears social media channels, feature actual Pacific Northwest pear growers talking about what they love best about pears, describing the flavor and texture of pears, how to tell when a pear is ripe, and promoting specific varieties of pears, such as the stark crimson and the red and green Anjous.

“Our organization takes great pride in the creative content we produce in-house,” said Neil Ferguson, creative marketing director for USA Pears. “We are honored to accept this award for a campaign that we feel showcases the passion of Northwest pear growers and features the amazing versatility of the pears they grow.”

Nearly nine out of every 10 pears grown commercially in the United States are grown in Washington and Oregon. USA Pears represents more than 800 pear growers and their families in the two states to market and promote pears.
