40 Under 40: Diego Tovar 8/2

Diego Tovar, 34, owns and operates Essence Construction LLC in Quincy, Washington and has a solid reputation for quality and timeliness, says nominator Stacie Dietch-Becker. 

“His quality of work, transparency in performing on task under a tight timeline, consistently and on-budget is highly commendable,” Dietch-Becker said. 

Essence Construction takes care of remodels, roof installation, patio covers, decks, pergolas, sheds, fences, windows, doors, dump trailer services, demolitions and rental and real estate turns for local clients. 

Tovar said he likes to make certain that he buys local whenever possible as he works on various projects. His long-term goal is to have a heavy equipment construction business, but he’s started small and is working on growing from simpler jobs into the heavier industry he’s got well over a decade of experience in. 

Tovar said he appreciates the Quincy area community’s support and that it was his neighbors who inspired him to start the business and have helped it grow after they recognized his desire to be ethical.

“I’m not interested in attacking a job if we’re not going to do it right,” Tovar said. “So, I turned down some jobs. I never would have thought that the result would be in favor of the company to turn down the jobs that everybody was lined up for.” 

That was the case though as potential clients in the community saw that he was dedicated to taking the jobs he knew he’d be able to deliver on and not overselling himself outside of his company’s expertise.

“Diego is an upstanding member of the Quincy Valley Chamber of Commerce in Quincy, Washington (and is) well known and highly regarded throughout the city and (by) its residents,” Dietch-Becker said.
