40 Under 40: Dina Hussein
Washington State University grad student Dina Hussein has made an impression on the field of computer engineering even before graduating with her doctorate.
She was recently chosen to attend the Heidelberg Laureate Forum and get an opportunity to meet and learn from top researchers in computer science and mathematics, according to a WSU announcement.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage with laureates who have made groundbreaking contributions to mathematics and computer science,” Hussein said.
Hussein has contributed to various research projects within the WSU School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Her advisor, Ganapati Bhat, Raymond and Beverly Lorenz Distinguished Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering, said her contributions also include representing the university in a thesis competition and helping push research forward within her department.
Hussein will attend the forum this September and hopes to get solid feedback from the researchers at the center of the event.
“The first question I would like to ask the laureates would be, ‘What advice would you give to young researchers like me who are just starting their journey in research,’” she said in a WSU news brief.
